Movies

We have picked the top 3 movies that will bring you to the world of trading from the very first seconds.

Movie 1: “The Wolf of Wall Street”

If you still did not hear about this movie, then you’ve missed a lot. This drama is based on real events that happened with a famous broker Jordan Belfort. The plot is a bit chaotic, but it depicts the classic daily trading routine of professionals of all levels. The movie has so much trading energy, so you will be generously charged with it after watching.

Movie 2: “Becoming Warren Buffett.”

If you prefer documentaries, that movie is for you. It is also based on a real person’s life story, a great American businessman – Warren Buffett. The movie shows the unprecedented success and personal challenges that he faced. You can watch the real life of the most prosperous investor and trader in the world and get inspired promptly.

Movie 3: “The Big Short.”

This movie is about the crisis and the opportunities that it brings. Here you can see three different stories that took place in 2007 during the housing market collapse. You will see 3 different approaches to problem-solving. Also, you can learn about subprime mortgages and collateralized debt obligations: what is it and how it is used in developed countries. After watching, we recommend spending some time on Google researching what caused the global market crash in 2007 and some concepts described there. You will definitely find something new about trading on markets that you had no idea about before. A good movie to make your evening excellent!

Books

That’s not so entertaining as movies, but you can virtually “talk and learn” from the cleverest people (the authors) and immerse yourself in their ideas and way of thinking with books. Check out these books:

Book 1: “Poor Charlie’s Almanack: The Wit and Wisdom of Charles T. Munger” — Charlie Munger

This book is about a good business partner of Warren Buffett, a trader Charlie Munger. You can get a piece of advice each time you get back to it. It contains many inspirational things and wisdom, so it is a must for a newbie businessman or trader.

Book 2: “Trump: The Art of the Deal” — Tony Schwartz, Donald Trump

Mr. Donald Trump himself called this book one of his most significant personal accomplishments. Also, he mentioned that it is his 2nd favorite book (after the Bible). We think that it is already enough to dive into it. Imagine that you can get a bit of advice from the US President, talk with him about his life and learn about his formula for business success. All this is now possible through this book:). It does not matter whether you like D. Trump or not because with this book, you can learn about a new perspective of how politicians live and work.

Book 3: “Freakonomics” — Steven Levitt, Stephen J. Dubner

That book contains a great list of the most strange questions you can ever ask a professional trader. For example, how can a rifle be the same dangerous as a swimming pool? Why do Moms of drug dealers act as caregivers until their trouble-kids turn 30 or even more? And how is that connected with the global economy? All these questions got researched and answered very earnestly. The book is entertaining and engaging because it describes hard things with fun and straightforward language and shows the dark side of everything. Highly recommended!

We hope this list of books and movies will help you spend your evenings better, get charged with some trading energy, and continue to trade on IronTrade with renewed vigor.
